Mission Barns
Mission Barns is a cell-cultivated meat company that sets a precedent for sustainable meat consumption. By safely harnessing animal cells and growing them in a bioreactor, Mission Barns can produce meat that harbors the same taste, flavor and appearance as conventional meat. The goal is to minimize industrial agriculture for a more healthy, humane and environmentally friendly world.
In order to quell the negative perceptions of lab-grown meat, the identity is rooted in a familiar butcher shop aesthetic. The crafted, flavor-first approach evokes a familiarity of a food brand as opposed to anything scientific or technical.

Education through interactive storytelling
Hand-drawn illustrations are used to soften the science-heavy cultivation process. The narrative follows the donor pig Dawn, as she lives a free and healthy life, through the introduction of cultivated meat. Users can zoom in at microscopic levels, watching cells multiply, and then scroll out to see a juicy piece of bacon, all while Dawn roams freely.
